Reliance-owned JioStar’s revenue increased considerably in the December 2025 quarter, although the profitability margins softened. Revenue of the company has increased 11.6% sequentially to ₹6,896 crores, driven by increased subscription rates on digital platforms as well as TV, as well as higher digital advertising revenue.
However, the profitability was impacted. The profit before tax decreased by 32.2% to ₹898 crore, while EBITDA decreased to ₹1,303 crore from ₹1,738 crore in the earlier quarter.
JioStar’s over-the-top service JioHotstar saw 450 million monthly active users with a 13% quarter-over-quarter increase. The entertainment watch time increment was 15% in this quarter due to the addition of Bigg Boss in three languages and the performance of Hindi and regional content offerings on television.
The CEO, Kevin Vaz, pointed out that JioStar retained their subscribers won during the cricket season as they concentrated on the provision of entertaining content services. The CEO also stated that the television advertising business is still sluggish as FMCG and consumer electronics adverts decreased.
Conclusion: The Q3 performance of JioStar demonstrates strength in digital activity and subscription-based growth, but profit and ad pressures indicate future challenges.
