Will Google's AI Overviews cite your site? Free audit
Google quietly published the official rules for what gets cited in AI Overviews and AI Mode. Most "AI SEO" advice (llms.txt files, content chunking, AI-only schema) is stuff Google explicitly says doesn't matter. We built a free tool that audits any URL against the actual guide. 20+ checks across Eligibility, Content Quality, Surface Formats, and Technical. Every failing check links to the exact Google source. No signup. No AI-SEO snake oil. Just what Google actually said.

"Hey Product Hunt, For the past year we've watched Google AI Overviews eat into the click-through rate of every site we run. Then a few weeks ago Google quietly published the actual rules for what gets cited, and it turned out most of the "AI SEO" advice flying around (special llms.txt files, content chunking, AI-only schema) is stuff Google explicitly says doesn't matter. So we built the tool we wished existed. Paste a URL, get a score against Google's official guide, and a fix list you can hand to your dev team. A few things worth knowing: - It's free. No signup needed to see your score and top blockers. - Every check maps to a specific line in Google's published guide. Each failing check links to the exact source. - Eligibility blockers (nosnippet, max-snippet:0, noindex, robots.txt issues) are weighted 4x heavier than surface tweaks, because they are pass-or-fail. One wrong directive can take you out of every AI Overview. - 20+ checks across 4 categories: Eligibility, Content Quality, Surface Formats, Technical. I'd love feedback on two things: 1. Are the failing-check explanations clear enough that a non-SEO dev could action them? 2. What other AI search surfaces should we audit against next (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude)? Try it on your own site here: https://sitespeak.ai/tools/ai-ov... Happy to answer anything in the thread today."
